HIGHLIGHTS

  • Sachin Tendulkar reached Berlin on Monday to attend the Laureus World Sports Awards
  • He got trolled by Sourav Ganguly on social media after posting pictures from the German capital
  • Ganguly had also trolled the Master Blaster on his pictures from Melbourne four days ago

Sourav Ganguly is one of the few people in the world who can pull Sachin Tendulkar's leg without any worries, having played together for nearly three decades for India and in domestic cricket.

Their friendship on and off the field goes back to their teenage days and the camaraderie shows even now when the retired legends engage in funny banter on social media.

After trolling Tendulkar for holidaying in Australia last week, Ganguly once again had a cheeky reply on Sachin's latest post from Berlin on Monday.

Tendulkar is in the German capital to attend the Laureus World Sports Awards in which he has been shortlisted as one among five contenders for the Greatest Sporting Moment 2000-2020 Award.

The moment, titled "Carried On the Shoulders Of A Nation", is a reference to the Indian team's 2011 World Cup win in Mumbai.

Tendulkar reached Berlin on Monday and posted a couple of pictures posing in front of a heritage building in the city.

"Happy to be in Berlin for the @laureussport World Sports Awards 2020!" Tendulkar captioned the post.

Ganguly was quick to reply with: "Tendulkar.. I was not wrong ..."

The BCCI president was in fact referring to his earlier post from four days ago when Tendulkar had uploaded pictures of himself while "Soaking up the Sun" in Melbourne.

Ganguly had pulled Tendulkar's leg on that picture as well. "Kisi kisi ka kismat acha hai (some people are lucky) .. chuttii manate raho (keep holidaying)," he wrote on the post.

Tendulkar was in Australia to participate in the bushfire charity cricket match in which he coached the Ricky Ponting XI and also played an over against Southern Stars all-rounders Ellyse Perry and Annabel Sutherland.

He had stayed back in Australia for a few days after the bushfire charity match which managed to raise over USD 7.7 million for the communities devastated by the fires that have ravaged Australia for months.

Two teams led by Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist played against each other in a 10-overs-per-side match in which Ponting XI emerged victorious by 1 run against Gilchrist XI at the Melbourne Junction Oval stadium.
