Former India captain and legendary batsman Sourav Ganguly will be the next president of the BCCI. Ganguly got his nomination for the post of Chairman on Monday 14 October after the meeting of the board members got his name stamped.
Apart from him, no one has filed nomination, so Ganguly will be elected unopposed for the post. Ganguly can now give his opinion on decisions related to the board as well as team management after becoming the BCCI president.
Although his direct intervention will not be much, but despite this, a lot can change from his opinion. In such a situation, there are many players, who according to Ganguly's opinion in the coming time, may return to Team India.
It includes MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dinesh Karthik, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Karun Nair, Sanju Samson and Yusuf Pathan.
Changes in captaincy possible if performance does not improve in T20
The last few times in T20 cricket have not been special for India. The T20 format will be very important for the next year's World Cup. In such a situation, if India's team does not perform well in T20 under the captaincy of Virat in the next few series, then Ganguly can use his veto power to change the captaincy.
In such a situation, Rohit Sharma can be seen as captain in T20. He also has a great record as a captain for India including the IPL.
