Million dollar properties are selling like hot cakes in Shelly Beach with a string of sales rounding up the end of last year.

Just recently some first homebuyers from Sydney snapped up a charming three bedroom home at 48 Lord St for $1.015 million.

Agent Brian Whiteman from The Agency said that the young couple were originally looking for apartments in the $750,000-$800,000 range, but changed their minds and decided to pay a bit extra for a house.

“They were so excited,” he said.

“They tried to break into the Sydney market, but here they can walk to the beach and they’re very happy to move up to the coast.”

With its Hamptons style facade and white picket fence, it is not hard to understand why the buyers were charmed by the property.

In walking distance of Shelly Beach, shops and golf course, the property includes two living areas, an open plan kitchen with stone benches and stacker doors that open to an entertainment deck and level back yard with room for a pool.

The sale comes after another top transaction on the street at no. 42, which Mr Whiteman sold last year for $1.2 million.

The sale was the highest price for a two-bedroom property in Shelly Beach with interiors reminiscent of a luxury northern beaches home.

Prior to that, 27 Shelly Beach Rd was sold for a street record of $1.175 million and 41 Waterview St was sold for a suburb record of $1.43 million.

Adjoining the Shelly Beach golf club, the record-setting house includes uninterrupted views across to the ocean.

With four bedrooms and direct access from the rear garden to the golf course and down to Shelly Beach, it is a dream lifestyle property.

“Everyone is talking about these sales at the moment – the Shelly Beach market is going off,” Mr Whiteman said.
