Legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar’s biopic ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ hit theatres worldwide on Friday, two days after a special premiere was organised at a theatre in Mumbai. A number of present and former cricketers, including members of the Champions Trophy squad, had been part of the premiere with the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and KL Rahul even congratulating the batsman on Twitter.
However, there were a significant number of absentees as well, including Virender Sehwag with whom he formed one of the most explosive batting pair in the history of Indian cricket.
Sehwag, who has taken Twitter by storm since his retirement, took to the micro-blogging website to cite the reason for him being absent as well.

In the video, he also added, “I have seen Sachin Tendulkar’s batting for free from the non-striker’s end, while sitting in the dressing room too,” he said. “Now, it is time to spend some money and watch his movie. I will definitely go and watch his movie and will spend some money. I even expect that you all will also go and watch his movie because the kind of inspiration that the kids can get from his movie, they can’t get it from anywhere else.”
Sehwag and Tendulkar have the seventh highest runs in ODI history — 4387 runs in 114 innings. They also have 13 century-stands between them and another 18 fifty-plus stands.
Their best, however, was against New Zealand in November 2003 where they put up 182 for the opening wicket. Both Tendulkar (102) and Sehwag (130) had hit centuries in the match, which India won by 145 runs.
