As seen on the SummerSlam 2019 Kickoff Show, WWE Hall of Famer Edge and delivered a thunderous Spear on Elias. It was for the first time that Edge did something physical in a WWE ring after his in-ring retirement back in 2011. So it fuelled up the speculations whether WWE may have allowed him to get back to the ring for a full-time basis.
Fans of this legendary superstar will be happy to hear that there’s indeed some backstage news going on him trying to get cleared. According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials have discussed the possibility of Edge’s in-ring return:
“While it is not confirmed that he will wrestle again, the idea of him wrestling again has definitely been talked about very privately, although we’re not sure if he can get clearance.” (via wwfoldschool.com)
Consecutively, reports are available when Edge could be back in action in due course. The Rated R Superstar (who will turn 46 later this month) can get cleared to return to in-ring action, it’s almost certain that Saudi Arabia officials would be open to pay him a big amount paycheck to perform at one of their upcoming PPVs.
Now the Hall of Famer himself commented on the situation stating “No I’m not and no I’m not” potentially confirming that WWE is yet to medically clear him to wrestle. Otherwise, EWrestlingNews reported that he has already signed a contract with WWE to come back to in-ring competition. Once Edge denied that the source provided a follow-up update.

As per them, ‘Edge has not been cleared to return to WWE’ but he is working on ‘trying to get cleared’. If WWE does not clear him due to his neck concussions then AEW is a valid option for him as WWE’S rival brand also wants to sign the former world champion knowing that he intends to wrestle again,
“As of right now, the WWE creative team is working under the impression that he won’t get cleared by WWE’s doctors. What happens with AEW and Edge’s own doctors remain to be seen but he’s definitely interested in wrestling again.”
The situation is pretty interesting around Edge, for now. One of the all-time greats could be a huge attraction for the company if he decides to come back to in-ring competition. It certainly will be big news for the company as well as garnering attention. We have to wait for more to get a concrete update on the future of the 11-time world champion.
