A young child has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Sydney’s inner west this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a home on Hunter St in Strathfield at 3.45pm after reports a 21-month-old child had been struck by a car.
Multiple NSW Ambulance crews and a specialist medical team were sent to the residence, with the child being treated for a serious head injury.
It is understood the child was hit by car in an underground carpark of an apartment block, 7 News reported.

The child was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.
Joseph Ibrahim, Inspector, NSW Ambulance, said incidents like these “are a parent’s and paramedic’s worst nightmare”.
“As you can imagine arriving at a job like this is fairly horrendous, it was very upsetting for the first responders on scene,” Mr Ibrahim said.
“Going to a job where a child is involved is extremely difficult for paramedics, the crews on scene work together to get the best possible outcome for our patients.”
