Election Commission team led by its chief Sunil Arora today reviewed poll preparations. AIR correspondent reports that the Election Commission team led by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora held marathon meetings in Ranchi for two days on election preparations. During this , the Election Commission team also interacted with representatives of political parties. Meanwhile, the campaigning for the first phase of elections to 13 seats in the state going to poll on November 30 has intensified. Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah addressed public meetings in Manika and Lohardaga today.
The star campaigners of Congress, JMM, JVM and AJSU party are also busy in public meetings. The nomination work for 17 seats for the third phase has gained momentum. Notification for the fourth phase will be issued tomorrow for 15 seats. In Jharkhand assembly elections are being held in five phases from November 30 to December 20 , while counting of votes will be held on December 23.
In Jharkhand, today is the last date for withdrawal of nomination for the second phase of Assembly elections, which goes to polls on 7th December. In this phase, 279 candidates are in the fray after the scrutiny of nomination papers.
