Anupam Kher starrer ‘The Accidental Prime Minister' is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films of 2019; wherein Kher is essaying the role of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. The movie; that is based on the book under the same name written by the former PM's media advisor, Mr. Sanjay Baru is set to release on the 11th of January.

The film has been grabbing headlines ever since its announcements have been made and now the film is back in news. As per the films lead and veteran actor Anupam Kher the trailer of the film has been pulled down from Youtube. The ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' actor; who wrote to Youtube said that, the film trailer does not appear when searched on Youtube and even if itdoes, it comes on the 50th spot.

The actor also attached screenshots of the same to support his claim. Kher wrote," Dear @YouTube!!! I am getting messages & calls that in parts of our country if you type, trailer of #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister, it is either not appearing or at 50th position. We were trending at No.1 yday. Please help. #HappyNewYear. #37millionviews."

The trailer of the film was reflecting in the first few searches itself until Tuesday.

The film, which was earlier scheduled for a release on the 27th December was pushed to the 11th of January in order to avoid clashes with Anand L Rai's, Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma starrer ‘ZERO'.

Anupam Kher, who has gone massive transformation to nail the looks and mannerisms of Dr. Singh had earlier expressed his views on the protest's that the trailer was receiving from the Congress party by saying," "They should be happy that a film has been made on their leader. They should bring the crowd to watch the film as it has dialogues such as 'Will I sell my country?' which shows how great Manmohan Singh ji is."

This issue has raised many eyebrows and speculations have started doing rounds the trailer is being pulled down from the video sharing website due to the backlash it received for promoting an anti-Congress propaganda, with its release scheduled just ahead of the Lok Sabha elections of 2019.

Apart from Mr. Anupam Kher, the film also stars actors like Ahaana Kumra, Vipin Sharma, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Mathur and German actress Suzanne Bernert.
