A heartbroken schoolgirl has written an emotional tribute to her mum who was stabbed to death in a house.

Clare Nash, 33, was found inside a property in Newmarket, Suffolk, by police responding to reports of a stabbing on Thursday.

She had been stabbed 10 times and died at the scene, a court heard.

Her daughter 15-year-old Rachel said her mum "always had a smile on her face" and said she "couldn't ask for a better mum".

Rachel wrote a tribute to the mum-of-two which was shared in a Facebook group.

She said: "We all adored her so much and she always had a smile on her face and made everyone else smile along with her.

"RIP mum both of your babies adore you so much.

"We will both try and do you proud.

"I couldn't ask for a better mum, I just couldn't imagine not having you around no more and for you to be there for Mason and myself.

"We love, adore and miss you so much at least you are in a safer place along with nan xx".

Following Clare's death, family friend Stacey-Lorraine Roberts, set up a GoFundMe to support Clare's children.

The page reads: "I am creating this in order to raise some money for both of the children of beloved Clare Nash, whose life was taken far too soon.

"Her daughter Rachel, 15, has asked for this go fund me to be organised for her and her brother.

"We would just like to raise some money so that both of the children have got the financial support.

"Anything will be appreciated, the money will never bring their mum back but it will mean they have some back up."

The community have since shared an outpouring of love for the family.

One person wrote: "Clare was a great friend of mine, we had some great times and she looked out for me.

"She will be missed and I'd just like to say my heart goes out to her family and I hope her children are going to be okay.

Another said: "Will miss you always, thank you for being part of my life and allowing me to be part of yours. Love you Clare."

Charles Jessop, 28, has been charged with murder and is accused of killing Ms Nash at a flat in Brickfields Avenue, Newmarket, Suffolk on January 16.

Peter Gair, prosecuting, said Ms Nash's cause of death was "compression of the neck and stab wounds", adding that she was stabbed 10 times.

The defendant, of Bakers Row in Newmarket, spoke only to confirm his name as he appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Monday.

Jessop, who appeared by video-link from Norwich Prison wearing a grey tracksuit, sat beside a prison officer as he listened to proceedings. He was not asked for a plea.

He is next due to appear in court on March 27 for a plea hearing, with a provisional trial date set for July 13.
