KFC is testing a new crispy chicken sandwich stuffed with Cheetos at select stores, and the news is proving to be pretty mouthwatering for social media users.
Since KFC's customers are hardly placing 'healthy' at the top of their dinner checklist when they stop for a meal at the chain, it seemed inevitable that there would be huge demand for such a dish.
As of yesterday, customers at select locations can get their hands on the sandwich, which includes fried chicken smothered in Cheetos-flavored sauce, a layer of mayo, and a helping of actual Cheetos snacks packed between the buns.
'Both KFC and Cheetos have dedicated fan bases loyal to each new creation,' said a spokesperson according to Delish.
'It only made sense to merge these two iconic brands together to provide an irresistible and flavorful sandwich that gives the best of both worlds.'
Since it's just a test run, though, the dish is only available at a handful of franchises.
Cheeto enthusiasts will have to travel to Greensboro and Raleigh, North Carolina, Roanoke and Richmond, Virginia, and Greenville, Georgia to order it.
Cheetos have come to be an incredibly popular topping for trendy eateries over the past few years.
In 2017, Reynolds Kitchen promoted a Thanksgiving recipe for a turkey covered in crushed Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
That same year, The Bagel Nook in Freehold, New Jersey made waves on social media when it debuted Flamin' Hot Cheetos bagels.
And California pizza chain Ameci made snack fans swoon in 2016 with its Flamin' Hot Cheetos-topped pizza.
