The Daily Telegraph reported that Sam moved out of their $3.8 million home in Maroubra towards the end of September.

'They tried to give it a go but it just didn't work,' a source told the publication.

Following the split, Sam was banned from going within a kilometre of his estranged wife's country hideout after an alleged row with her father.

Sam was visiting his two children at the NSW southern highlands estate when he allegedly got into an argument with Mitchell Hooke.

Mr Hooke reportedly asked the NRL star to leave the family's three hectare farm in Glenquarry - which Burgess did - but police were called about 5pm.
