St. Anthony's Sr. Sec. School, Udaipur Organised a Workshop-cum-Competition on Phad and miniature painting under the ensign of INTACH Udaipur Chater. Mr S. K. Verma retired Chief Wildlife conservationist and intAcH principle advisor, Delhi spoke on heritage awareness & conservation. Dr B. P. Bhatnagar (convener) and Mr Gaurav Singvi (co-convener) along with Ms Snehlata Chauhan and Ms Anita Chaplot from St. Anthony's Sr. Sec. School, Udaipur conducted the competition. Shri Om Prakash Soni, an acclaimed miniature artist and Shri Abhishek Joshi from Shahpura, a renowned Phad artist addressed 80 students of 16 different schools on their art and its technicalities. Shri Abhishek Joshi taught students how a phad cloth is made from refined flour (maida) and leftover rice water. He told how natural colours are made by crushing stones and adding gums to form different colours. The Principal, Mr William D'souza thanked the guest and the participants and representatives for their enthusiasm and a spirit to guard the traditional miniature art and phad paintings. The credit of organising the programme successfully was given to Mr Jadish Paliwal & the entire St. Anthony's School team by Mr Bhatnagar.
