HIGHLIGHTS

  • Oppo Reno 3 Pro launch date in India has been announced.
  • The Reno 3 Pro was originally launched in China last year.
  • The India variant of Reno 3 Pro will, however, be slightly different.

Oppo Reno 3 Pro India launch date has been revealed. Post the confirmation on Reno 3 Pro's arrival in India, Oppo has announced the Reno 3 Pro will debut on March 2. The smartphone has also been listed on e-tailer websites, Flipkart and Amazon ahead of the launch. The Oppo Reno 3 Pro was launched in China in December last year as a 5G phone. However, the India model will support only up to the 4G network. Additionally, there will be other variations in the specifications, including a dual punch-hole camera setup. Oppo has also aired a promotional video starring Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor, confirming that even the display of the Reno 3 Pro will be different from the China model.

The announcement was made by Oppo India in a tweet that reads - "#OPPOReno3Pro with the World's First 44MP #DualPunchHole Camera is coming to double the clarity in every shot. Ranbir Kapoor is ready to experience OPPO Reno3 Pro. Catch all the action unfold on 2nd March, 2020!" The tweet is accompanied by the promotional video showing Kapoor sort of playing with two water droplets that turn into two sensors that reside in the dual punch-hole setup. One of the sensors will be a 44-megapixel one while the other one could be a 2-megapixel snapper. The China model has a single 32-megapixel camera on the front.

Besides, the display of the Reno 3 Pro in the video also looks flat, unlike the curved one on its China model. But there will be more variations on the India variant of the Reno 3 Pro. First, there will be no 5G support on it, owing to the lack of the necessary infrastructure in India. This also means that there could be a different processor on the device. The China variant of the Reno 3 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor but the India one might come with the Snapdragon 730G SoC.

Other specifications could, however, be similar to that of the China model. There will be a quad-camera setup at the rear, comprising a 48-megapixel primary snapper, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle snapper, a 13-megapixel telephoto sensor, and a 2-megapixel black and white sensor. It could pack 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Oppo Reno 3 Pro will also run ColorOS 7 based on Android 10. It will be fuelled by a 4025mAh battery that charges at up to 30W.

We also know that the Oppo Reno 3 Pro will go on sale via Amazon India and Flipkart as and when its availability is announced. The launch event on March 2 will also be when Oppo will reveal the pricing of the smartphone. We can also expect the smartphone to be available in the offline market across the country.
