OnePlus' 'Unique Android TV' could launch on September 26: Report

Chinese phone maker, OnePlus, has long been known to be looking to get into the Television business with its very own OnePls TV. The company has been talking about coming out with this new TV for a while now, and if reports are believed this could finally become reality.

Earlier, OnePlus had confirmed of its foray into the television market and we have been since waiting for an announcement around the OnePlus TV. However, we now have a report that claims the TV could launch on September 26.

As per a report citing reliable sources, OnePlus is planning to launch a range of its smart TVs in the last week of September 2019. While there is no confirmation on the exact date, the report claims it could be September 26.

This news comes shortly after the OnePlus TV Remote passed through the Bluetooth SIG website for certification. The leak has hinted that the OnePlus TV could be a reality soon at least in three markets, China, India, and the US.

The listing of the OnePlus TV was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website with model numbers listed as 55Q1IN, 65Q2CN, and 75Q2US where it is being speculated that the IN, CN and the US at the end of model numbers indicate markets as in India, China, and the US.

The listing hints that the OnePlus TV could launch from size 43-inch to 75-inches. Talking about the specific screen sizes, the OnePlus TV could come in 43-inch, 55-inch 65-inch and 75-inch models. At the moment, there are not many details available about the OnePlus TV specs but the listing hints that largest 75-inch model may not head to India and could be limited to China and the US.

The Bluetooth SIG listing also includes the label for 'Unique Android TV' for the OnePlus TV on which there's no word what it means at the moment, but we should get some clarity when the launch nears. Considering that OnePlus has been keeping things under the wrap, we expect that the company has been working on a forked Android version for its TV models and we could see that announcement during the unveiling.

The listing also hints at the support for Bluetooth 5.0. Similarly, the OnePlus TV Remote was earlier listed on the website and was rumoured to come with voice supported gestures.
