- The Nokia 6.2 could launch by the end of the month
- The Nokia 6.2 is rumoured to come with a punch hole display
- It may also get dual cameras on the back with Zeiss optics
In 2019, you can expect to see a lot of smartphones with a hole in the display as it will likely become the new trend as phone manufacturers look to remove the notch. Samsung, Huawei and Honor are some brands that have already showcased phones with a display hole, and HMD Global looks to be next in line. This week, we saw with a hole in the display and now we hear that the Nokia 6.2 may also get a similar display. A tweet by Nokia_Leaks reveals some key details about the Nokia 6.2.
The newly minted account on Twitter that goes by Nokia_Leaks tweeted on Thursday some information on the upcoming Nokia 6.2. Firstly, the name itself suggests that this will be a successor to the Nokia 6.1 that was launched early last year. If what the tipster says is true, the Nokia 6.2 will come with a dramatically new design over its predecessor.
The tweet claims the Nokia 6.2 will come with a 6.2-inch display with a cutout in the display to house a selfie camera. There's no word on the configuration of the front camera just yet. So, you can expect an edge-to-edge display with minimal bezels all around and a hole in the display instead of a notch. The tweet also claims that the phone will get dual cameras on the back with Zeiss optics.
This already proves to be a major upgrade over last year's Nokia 6.1 () which comes with a traditional 16:9 display and a single rear camera. In addition to this, the Nokia 6.2 is said to come with a Snapdragon 632 chipset coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM. This sounds like a minor bump over the Nokia 6.1 which comes with a Snapdragon 630 chipset coupled with up to 4GB of RAM.
According to the tipster, the Nokia 6.2 will go official in January-end or early February. China is said to be the first market, but you can expect the Nokia 6.2 to come to India as well. This is the same tipster that has claimed that the Nokia 9 PureView flagship will launch by the end of January and that there is a 5G version of the Nokia 9 PureView with Snapdragon 855 that will launch in August. These leaks are yet to be proven true so it's best to consider the latest leak about the Nokia 6.2 with a pinch of salt.
