Zee TV's new show Hamari Bahu Silk premiered on June 3, 2019. The show starring Chahat Pandey and Zaan Khan in the lead replaced Aapke Aa Jane Se. Zaan Khan plays Naksh Parikh, who is passionate about photography but his family wants him to join their business. The Naamkarann actor learnt photography and also lost 12 kg to get into the skin of his character.

Zaan plays a 22-year-old on the show and wanted to look convincing. In order to fit into his character, the actor lost 12 kg over a period of one month. The actor spent his time playing football and going for long runs to shed those extra kilos.

"I think it is important to look and feel your character. I weighed around 80kgs before I took up the character of Naksh but the script demanded me to look a certain way so I had to shed 12kgs within a month's time and have touched 67kgs now. Well, it wasn't easy as I had to be mindful of my diet too. I invested the majority of my time playing my favourite sport football and indulged in multiple outdoor activities which helped me get the desired look. I hope the audiences enjoy watching me as Naksh Parikh," Zaan said in a statement.

Hamari Bahu Silk traces the story of Paakhi (Chahat), who starts working as a dubbing artist for sensuous scripts after she loses her father. Zaan Khan plays Naksh Parikh, whose passion is photography but his family pressurizes him join the family business. It shows how society judges a woman on the basis of their career choices.
