NEUER VS TER STEGEN BATTLE CONTINUES

German goalkeeping rivals, Manuel Neuer and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, have exchanged a petty war of words in recent times and their battle will continue over the next fortnight.

Ter Stegen has become frustrated with his lack of playing time with Germany, while Neuer hit back by claiming the Barcelona goalkeeper should solely focus on the national team.

And now Joachim Low is set to split the playing time between the two this time round, with Ter Stegen set to play against Argentina in Dortmund on Wednesday and Neuer away at Estonia on Sunday evening.

CHELSEA DUO LOOKING TO SHINE FOR ENGLAND

It has been a whirlwind start to the season for young Chelsea duo Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori, who have been rewarded thanks to their fine form with senior England call-ups.

And the pair are hoping to get the chance to shine for the Three Lions when Gareth Southgate's side take on the Czech Republic on Friday before facing Bulgaria just three days later.

Abraham will be desperate to strut his stuff up top alongside Harry Kane after scoring nine goals already in just 11 games in all competitions for Chelsea, while Tomori - who earned his first senior call-up - will be eyeing a spot in defence after proving his worth at the back for the Blues.

ENGLAND TO QUALIFY IN STYLE?

The Three Lions have the chance to claim their spot already at the European Championships next summer with victory away against the Czech Republic at the Eden Arena.

It has been an impressive campaign for Southgate's men so far, who have picked up maximum points from their first four matches, scoring a hugely impressive 19 goals along the way.

And Southgate will be desperate for his England side to make another statement this fortnight, starting on Friday as they look to begin preparations for the 2020 Euros.

VAN DIJK TO DENT NORTHERN IRELAND'S EURO HOPES?

It has been an impressive start to Northern Ireland's qualifying campaign - sitting second in Group C, which consists of the likes of Germany and Holland, on 12 points from five fixtures.

However, their campaign took a hit last time out as they lost to Germany but another stumble could be on the way when Michael O'Neill's side face a rejuvenated Holland side on their travels on Thursday night.

And one man who will be confident of stopping Northern Ireland is Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk, alongside Matthijs de Ligt. Victory for Holland would put them above their opponents on goal difference - and with a match in hand - which could really derail the Green and White Army's Euro hopes.

SCOTLAND'S NIGHTMARE COULD CONTINUE

Scotland's Euro hopes are all but over, having picked up just six points from as many games - already a massive 12 points off pace-setters Belgium in Group I following a disastrous run of results.

Steve Clarke is enduring a torrid time as Scotland boss, losing the last three qualifiers in insipid fashion against Belgium (twice) and Russia, shipping nine goals in that time.

Scotland face Russia away on Thursday and their horrid run could continue before they face San Marino at Hampden Park just three days later.

IS THIS WHEN FELIX'S PORTUGAL CAREER TAKES OFF?

Joao Felix has played understudy to five-time Ballon d'Or winner and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo after emerging onto the international scene with reigning Euro champions Portugal.

Felix has been mooted to follow in his compatriot's footsteps and had earned a staggering £114million move to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid from Portuguese outfit Benfica after emerging as one of the hottest talents in world football.

But he has found international life tough, failing to score in three senior appearances for Portugal. However, that could all be about to change for the 19-year-old as his country get ready to play Luxembourg at home before travelling to Ukraine.

HISTORY BECKONS FOR RAMOS

We are about to witness history in Spain as Sergio Ramos gets ready to become the country's most-capped player ever against Norway away during Euro qualifying on Saturday.

The Real Madrid captain currently sits on a record-equalling 167 caps for Spain alongside goalkeeping legend Iker Casillas. But Ramos is about to go one better this weekend.

The 33-year-old centre-back has enjoyed a remarkable international career, winning the World Cup in 2010, as well as the Euros back-to-back in 2008 and 2012 with Spain.

THE RENAISSANCE OF ITALY

After missing out on the 2018 World Cup following play-off heartache against Sweden, international giants Italy had reached the lowest of lows.

But under Roberto Mancini, the Azzurri have bounced back emphatically and could become one of the earliest qualifiers for the Euros if they beat Greece on Saturday night and if Armenia fail to win against Liechtenstein.

The Italians have enjoyed the perfect campaign so far, claiming 18 points from six matches in their qualifying group. And they could be about to have a big party in Rome on the weekend.

TOTTENHAM STAR SON IN PYONGYANG

They may in fact play against each other quite regularly, but for the first time in almost 30 years, South Korea will travel to heated rivals North Korea in Pyongyang next Tuesday.

Tottenham star Son Heung-min and his South Korean team-mates travel to the Kim Il Sung stadium next week but they will have to quickly forget about the historic significance of the occasion to walk away with three points.

BRAZIL ON THEIR TRAVELS ONCE AGAIN...

For some countries, the international break offers the opportunity to take in new surroundings for the first time. And Brazil are again continuing their globe-trotting tour.

Neymar and Co will bring the colour to Singapore over the next fortnight as they look to maximise their commercial revenue once more.

And who are they playing you ask? Well, they will be taking on Senegal and then Nigeria in Singapore...
