Paatal Lok has turned out to be one of the most loved web series to come out of India. The craze and hype around Paatal Lok is similar to Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Sacred Games and Pankaj Tripathi starrer Mirzapur.
Paatal Lok is an investigative thriller with enough twists to keep you at the edge of your seat throughout its 9-episode run. The show follows Inspector Hathiram Choudhary and his quest to solve the mystery behind the plan to attack on hotshot journalist Sanjeev Mehra. The layered web series is a perfect one to binge-watch.
If you are amongst those who have already watched the show and are now looking for its replacement to fill the void, well, here are 5 other suspense web shows that are worth your time to binge-watch.
Take a look at the list below:
Starring Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti, Asur is about a cat and mouse game between a serial killer and two forensic experts. Right from its chilling first episode to the final one, show is outstanding. Too bad, it didn't get the kind of eyeballs it deserved. If you loved Paatal Lok, you will definitely enjoy this one. Here's looking forward to season two.
One of the first original web shows from India, Breathe is more of thriller than suspense but a good one at that. The show stars R Madhavan and Amit Sadh. While Madhavan plays a bone-chilling serial killer, Sadh plays a washed-up cop, who is on his tale. Watch it for the thrills and terrific performances.
Bases on the British TV series of the same name, Criminal Justice stars Vikrant Massey, Pankaj Tripathi and Jackey Shroff. It is about a cab driver who is accused of murdering one of his passenger with whom he had a one night stand. Pankaj Tripathi plays his bumbling lawyer and Jackie Shroff, an imprisoned Godfather-esque figure.
The Raikar Case
This may not be the best whodunit out there but is still worthy of a viewing. Starring Atul Kulkarni and Neil Boopalam, The Raikar Case is about supposed suicide that has been deemed a murder by police.
Perhaps the first web show to feature a major movie star in the lead, Bose: Dead/Aive is about freedom fighter and INA chief Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and the mystery around his alleged death. The show plays very well along the mysterious figure that Netaji was and gives it a noir treatment. Rajkummar Rao is outstanding as Netaji.
