Kofi Kingston said of it, "It was so sad to go there on the biggest night of SmackDown and lose so quickly. The ending of the match in this way was heartbreaking. There is nothing you can do."

Kofi has been one of the most talented wrestlers in WWE, underestimated. 2019 was a great one for Kofi Kingston. He has already been a fan favorite wrestler while at New Day, but his performance in singles matches before WrestleMania led fans to demand him to win the WWE Championship for WrestleMania. Kofi Kingston went on to win the WWE Championship match for WrestleMania, and completed his dream by beating Daniel Bryan on "The Grandest Stage of That All".

Only losing the WWE Championship at the hands of Brock Lesnar was not bad for Kofi. His New Day partner Xavier Woods has been out for a long time due to injury. He was injured during a live event in Australia and would be out of the ring for about 6-7 months. Now it remains to be seen how the WWE uses the other two members of New Day.
