Spreading fake news on social media has been a recent phenomenon around the world and India is no different. Recently rumours of Suresh Raina’s death in a road accident were doing rounds on Twitter and Youtube, which the cricketer has denied.
Suresh Raina took to his official Twitter handle to quash the reports, where he said, “Past few days there has been fake news of me being hurt in a car accident. The hoax has my family & friends deeply disturbed. Please ignore any such news; with god’s grace I'm doing absolutely fine. Those @youtube channels have been reported & hope strict actions will be taken soon.”
Meanwhile, Suresh Raina’s international career has hit a roadblock. The southpaw made his comeback in the national team against South Africa but failed to deliver. Raina was also the part of all three ODIs against England last year but didn’t perform well.
Raina will now be seen in the Indian Premier League 2019 edition, where he will play for Chennai Super Kings. Raina has been an integral part of the IPL franchise as he is the all time highest run scorer for his team.First published: 12 February 2019, 16:11 IST
