Yes if ‘people’ means those who were against him in 2014, then certainly he has lost the trust of people. What they wanted him to do, he just did the opposite.
They wanted him not to uplift the lives of poor and deprived people of India as they believed that the word ‘poor’ could help them in the future to prepare new slogans like ‘Gareebi Hatao’.
But Modi tried to erase the term ‘poor’. He electrified those 18,452 villages that were the abode of darkness since independence. He brought the ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala scheme’and 6 crores of free LPG connections were provided to poor women across India.
He opened bank accounts of poor people under ‘Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana. Under the ‘Swachh Bharat Scheme’ 9 crore toilets were built across India and 534,499 villages became free from open defecation.
He brought Mudra scheme, skill development, make In India, digital India that has not only created job opportunities but also empowered the youth. All these schemes were needed long before to encourage start-up and small businesses.
They used to do things what people call good while breaking the comfort zone created by them Modi did demonetization and brought GST. Taking all these good decisions, he showed the true power of a Prime Minister.
They are disappointed with Modi as he has done so many things that they had not even thought after remaining in power for so many years. They tried their best to let Modi do the way they want. But they only got disappointments after realizing that unlike their governments, this government is clean and transparent.
Those people were not happy when our army did the surgical strike. They were not happy when most countries voted for ‘Yoga’ in the UN and they were not happy when Modi was imitated by the world’s most powerful leaders like Trump.
Modi demolished their dynasty, caste, community, and appeasement based politics. And when they truly realized that they can’t run away from the agenda of development, Narendra Modi lost their trust. They are so much self-centered that they have concluded that their perception is a reality.
