The RRB has introduced a new category Economically Weaker Section (EWS) for reservation of General Quota Candidates whose family income is less than 8 lakhs rupees.

For their 1.3 lakh vacancies including Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Commercial Apprentice, Station Master and Level 1 posts.

Under the EWS category 10 percent seats are expected to be reserved on all Government jobs, This is the first time railway has provide EWS reservation for its recruitment.

Beside the EWS reservation their be also some seats reserved for Ex Serviceman, Benchmark PwD and Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA) mentioned by the officials.

Candidates applying for EWS Category must have valid documents of their income issued by competent authority for the financial year 2017 to 2018, and must be produced at the time of document verification round.

In case fail to show the documents the candidate will be unable to get the reservation under EWS and be considered as unreserved candidate.
