A cop in Coimbatore Police department was suspended for stalking a woman. Prabhakaran, who works as a driver in the Coimbatore Police department, was suspended after he was caught stalking a woman in a drunk state.

In her complaint, the 35-year-old woman said the incident took place when she was on her way from Peiryanaickenpalay to Keeranatham.

As she drove past a TASMAC, government liquor shop, she allegedly noticed that a cop started following her.

She tried to ignore but the cop overtook her and stopped her vehicle.

When the cop approached her, he allegedly complimented her for her eyes.

As she reached Athipalayam, she sought help from the public.

Seeing the woman in panic, the bystanders surrounded Prabhakaran and questioned him.

According to eyewitnesses, at one point Prabhakaran even tried to enter a store to hide from the public outrage but the crowd didn't let him escape. He was found drunk at the time of the incident.

The woman filed an official complaint, which led to Prabhakaran's suspension. A department inquiry

has been initiated in the matter.
