CBSE Class 10 Board Exams: In order to ease pressure of lakhs of students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to introduce two levels of examination in Class 10 Mathematics board examination.

According to reports, the new change in pattern will come into effect from 2020 to cater to different kinds of learners.

CBSE Class 10 Mathematics Board Exams:

The nomenclature for the two examinations will be as follow:

Mathematics-Standard:For the existing level of examination

Mathematics-Basic: For the easier level

Meanwhile, the present level and curriculum of the subject would continue to remain the same, according to a circular issued by the CBSE.

National Curriculum Framework:

As per the National Curriculum Framework, not only would the two levels of examination cater to different kinds of learners and allow different levels of testing, it would also reduce overall student stress levels, the circular said.

"It is well known that students experience greatest stress before and during their most 'difficult' subject exam," it said.

"Keeping in view of this important aspect and as evidenced by the board results, the board has decided to introduce two levels of examination in Mathematics for the students who are going to appear in the board examination for the academic session ending March 2020 onwards," it said.

No change in syllabus, classroom teaching and internal assessment:

The syllabus, classroom teaching and internal assessment for both the levels would remain the same, so that the students get an opportunity to study the whole range of topics throughout the year and are able to decide upon the level of board examination depending upon their aptitude and abilities.

CBSE to introduce course on Artificial intelligence:

Meanwhile, the board is also planning to introduce Artificial Intelligence programs for courses 8, 9, and 10.

"The decision to introduce artificial intelligence as a skill subject and as an elective course was taken at a recent meeting of the board's governing body. We have decided that the subject would be introduced in classes 8, 9 and 10 as a skill subject," said a board member.

CBSE Class 10, Class 12 Board Exam 2019:

Last month, the board has released the datesheets for the Class 10 and Class 12 board examination. The Class 12 board exams will begin on February 15 and end on April 3, while the CBSE Class 10 board exams will begin on February 21 and go on till March 29.
