It's raining flagship smartphones in May, with OnePlus leading the way with the OnePlus 7 series smartphones. Following closely, Asus is now ready to bring its flagship smartphone that will compete with the OnePlus 7 series. Called the ZenFone 6, this Asus flagship will be unveiled globally tonight at 20:00 CEST, which in India can be watched at 11:30 pm via Asus' official Twitter feed.
Asus claims that with the ZenFone 6, it claims to 'defy the ordinary', thereby hinting at a unique feature that will set it apart from the other flagship Android smartphones. So far, Asus has teased certain features of the device, the major one being the fullscreen display with no notch. Apart from that, the ZenFone 6 is also known to get a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as triple card slot that can hold two SIM cards and a microSD card at once.
However, the leaks have given out a whole lot about the ZenFone 6, leaving nothing to the imagination as usual. The ZenFone 6 was initially assumed to get a sliding display similar to the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. However, a leak released by a Chinese website along with Roland Quandt unveiled that the ZenFone 6 will come with a one unique feature that has never been seen before on a smartphone.
First, let's the general expected specifications out of the way.
--Similar to all 2019 flagship Android smartphones, the ZenFone 6 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset that could be paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
--On top of that, the storage can also be expanded via a microSD card. The ZenFone 6 will thrive on a massive 5000mAh battery.
--Weirdly, the leaks suggest it will run on Android 8.1.
--The ZenFone 6 will also feature a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Now, for the most exciting feature:
-- The ZenFone 6 will feature a 6.2-inch fullscreen display with no notch. But where is the camera - does it have a pop-up camera?
--The leaks suggest that Asus has given the ZenFone 6 a flip camera module that will utilise the rear cameras for taking selfies. It isn't known whether the flip camera is motorised like the Samsung Galaxy A80 or requires to be pushed manually.
--The flip module will host two cameras, with the primary one being a 48-megapixel camera and the secondary one being a 13-megapixel camera.
