“With Android 10, Google has also debuted a tweaked version of the official Android logo”
Android 10 has been announced as the official name of the next version of Google’s mobile OS, meaning there will be no ‘full’ name for Android Q. This is the first time Google is using a numeral for the official name of Android, which have been named after desserts in the past decade for each major release. It should be noted that this is just the official confirmation of the Android 10 name — the latest generation of the mobile OS is still in beta. However, with the Android Q/ 10 beta 6 already available, it shouldn’t be long before next major public release becomes available for download.
With Android 10, the Android logo has also been updated, focussing on a new visual identity that is “more modern, thin, and geometric.” Moreover, for the first time, the Android robot will be part of the Android logo itself. So in the new logo’s shapes and visual identity system, users will now see “the same shapes and radii you will see in the Android robot.” The colour palette associated with the Android logo is now bigger to make it more “accessible” to a wider range of people.
