Here is some disappointing news for AEW fans around the world. Kenny Omega has not been cleared for in-ring action following an injury he sustained during AEW Full Gear. According to the former heavyweight champion, doctors have refused to clear him to compete in professional wrestling matches. Omega took to Twitter to break the news to his fans.
I lost and doctors won’t clear me for TV.— Kenny Omega (@KennyOmegamanX) November 11, 2019
The problem is that you left me alive and I’ll be back.
I win. #AEWFullGear#AEW
Kenny Omega was injured in a brutal match against Jon Moxley in last Saturday’s AEW Full Gear Pay per view. During the loss to Moxley, the duo had a brutal fight involving trash cans, barbed wires, mouse traps, steel chains, and pretty much anything that they could lay their hands on. Now, it looks like the brutal fight has taken its toll on the Best Bout Machine.
However, this doesn’t spell the end of Omega-Moxley feud. According to the former IWGP heavyweight champion, he still has Moxley in his sights. Their match may have split public opinion. But it has to be acknowledged that these two wrestlers put their bodies through hell for the main event.
AEW athletes rested
Kenny Omega is not the only AEW star to be advised rest by the doctors. Cody Rhodes was also not medically cleared by his doctors to fight in the ring following injuries he sustained in a match against Chris Jericho. Cody received eight stitches after busting his head against the ramp. Cody suffered the injury to his forehead after he dived out to the metal ramp that was connected to the ring. He missed Jericho and landed face down, resulting in a nasty cut above his right eye. The injury nearly stopped the match. Cody also suffered bruised ribs, taking him out of action for a few weeks.
