5 reasons why Vince McMahon is giving massive victories to Baron Corbin

Corbin recently defeated Ricochet clean on Raw. But why?

5 reasons why Vince McMahon is giving massive victories to Baron Corbin
Baron Corbin defeated many top Superstars in WWE

Baron Corbin has already defeated Superstars like Drew McIntyre, The Miz, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Ricochet and Kurt Angle, and fans are confused why this is happening. Since losing his Acting General Manager position, Corbin hasn’t done anything significant other than defeating our favorite Superstars.

He has also gotten many opportunities in recent times, which is confusing. Other than that, Corbin also gets a lot of television time than other Superstars. What's surprising is that most of his victories were clean, which means that he didn’t take any outside help to win the match.

This week, Corbin beat Ricochet by pinfall and fans were confused why it could have happened. Ricochet is one of our favorite Superstars, and a clean loss has hurt him a bit. The following are five possible reasons why Vince McMahon is giving massive victories to Baron Corbin.

#5 Fans don't like him

Baron Corbin is one of the most hated Superstars on Raw

Baron Corbin doesn’t rely on insulting the fans for getting heat. He beats their favorite Superstar “clean” and thus gets the job done.

At the moment, he has come to a point where the fans naturally start to boo him, whether he does something for it or not, which is a great thing. When WWE announced that he would face Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35, the fans were angry, upset, and disappointed at the same time.

They wanted someone like John Cena to face Angle in his final outing, but it didn't happen. Corbin slugged it out with the Olympic Gold Medalist and defeated him clean. Since then, many new fans have started hating him, and it could be a reason why Vince is giving him more victories. This way he will become Raw's biggest heel Superstar.

#4 A worthy opponent for Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin is advertised for Extreme Rules

Seth Rollins won the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35 after defeating Brock Lesnar. It has benefitted WWE in many ways. They now have a full-time champion who is already over with the fans, and an excellent opportunity to boost Raw’s ratings.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter also revealed that WWE is building Corbin up so that he could face Rollins for the Universal Championship. Currently, their match is advertised to happen at Extreme Rules, but we never know if Vince decides to change his plans at the last moment.

Rollins is the most liked Superstar on Raw after Becky Lynch, and it understandable why WWE wants his opponent to get some momentum before starting their rivalry. As of now, Rollins is scheduled to face AJ Styles at Money in the Bank where he will likely retain his Universal Championship.

#3 He deserves it

Corbin does a great job

Whether you like Baron Corbin or not, he is arguably one of the best wrestlers in WWE right now. When he first debuted on WWE, he had no prior experience in wrestling, which is why his work wasn't up to the mark. However, he has improved a lot since then and now, we can surely say that he is ready for a strong push.

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry also believes the same as he said this about the former Raw Acting General Manager:

"Baron Corbin is a guy that was athletic, passionate about being a wrestler and wanting to be good at it. And if you look at the body of work that he's put out already, he's on the right path."

In 2017, WWE tried to push him by giving him the Money in the Bank briefcase, but due to some reasons, he failed to cash it in successfully and then was lost in the shuffle. But now, he has a chance to become a top name.

#2 To keep his character alive

Corbin's character needs a new direction

Fans once loved seeing Baron Corbin when he was The Lone Wolf. However, since he became Constable Corbin, everything changed. He started getting more television time than any other Superstar on the roster and fans quickly started booing him.

The matter reached to such an extent that WWE had to reprogram their ongoing storylines and then the McMahon family took over Raw and SmackDown. Both shows no longer had general managers, and for Corbin haters, it was a great thing.

Even though Corbin is still in our bad list, his character isn’t the same anymore. He no longer receives the same heat as before, and his gimmick was slowly dying. But since WWE started giving him victories over top babyfaces, fans have started hating him much more than before. It’s a good thing for Corbin’s character as being a heel, WWE expects the Superstar to receive natural heat.

#1 He has bigger plans for Corbin

Is Vince McMahon planning something bigger for Baron Corbin?

There is a strong possibility that WWE could be planning to give a strong push to Corbin. They have already hinted that by giving him massive victories over Superstars like Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins and Ricochet.

Does that mean Corbin is going to become the Universal Champion soon? Or will he win the Money in the Bank contract again this year? Since Braun Strowman is no longer in the ladder match, that’s a possibility. However, what if Drew McIntyre wins the match instead? These are some questions that are popping up in our mind.

Let’s just think about Corbin’s situation for a moment. Despite being one of the most hated Superstars, Vince is giving him clean victories over babyfaces. It’s a clear indication that WWE has something bigger planned for Corbin and that could be anything.

Whenever WWE wants to push a Superstar, they start giving him/her victories on a regular basis. It’s what currently happening with Corbin, and if everything goes right then, he could end up doing something we never thought could happen.
